Technoblade, a Minecraft YouTuber has passed away at the age of 23. His family has posted an emotional goodbye video on his behalf.



The video, entitled "so long the nerds" and posted to his 10 million followers, showed his father calling him "the most amazing kid anyone could want".



The US internet celebrity became famous for livestreaming and posting clips of his playing the videogame sandbox.



In January of this year, Technoblade revealed to fans that he had been diagnosed with cancer.



The message of farewell, written moments before his death and read by his father, began: "Hello everyone, Technoblade here. This is what you should be seeing. I am dead."



He then revealed that his real name was in fact Alex, reminiscing about the time he manipulated viewers into believing that his name was Dave.



"Thank you all for supporting my work throughout the years," he continued. "If I had another hundred years of life, I think Technoblade would be my first choice again. They were the best years of my life."



The online star, who won Minecraft tournaments and had thousands of fans who reminisced about his life in a humorous fashion when playing the game, explained in a video for fundraising released in February that he had received radiation therapy, chemotherapy and a limb salvage procedure after a painful tumor was discovered in his right arm.

He died from sarcoma which is an uncommon soft tissue and bone cancer.



He disclosed his cancer diagnosis in August 2021, explaining that he initially believed the pain he was feeling was a result of a repetitive stress injury caused by playing too much. When his arm began to swell, it was taken to the hospital. He was subsequently diagnosed with cancer.



Technoblade's identity isn't known. However, his online avatar was a picture a crown pig.



He has 10.8 million viewers on his YouTube channel, and his bio reads: "I play video games often. While I might not be the best, I have hot elbows.



'Strategizing in heaven'



Fans of fellow gamers, fellow gamers, and YouTubers pay tribute to him online after learning of his death.



"I'll never forget the day I met Technoblade," recalled J Schlatt. "I left my job early to play with him in an Minecraft tournament. I was unsure of how to play... but the dude was able to get us through the entire tournament.



"Rest in peace, big guy. You'll always be a legend."



YouTuber Captain Puffy also known as Cara, tweeted: "Rest In Peace Technoblade. He always treated me with pure kindness. I was never denied from anything." He could not have been more kind!"



She added: "Thank you for everything you've done to help this community, it will never be the same without you."



Tommy Innit stated that "Technoblade" is legendary. From being a massive fan, to being one of his friends, I cannot even begin to describe how grateful I am to have been in his life. I know he is working in heaven to overcome God ...".



"I've been watching Technoblade's films for the past hour," added Ludwig Ahgren. "He was so funny, so humble even in the most difficult of times. He will always be a role model for me."



Quackity also expressed his gratitude on social media Quackity expressed his gratitude online, writing: "I had the opportunity to express to Technoblade how much admiration and respect I have for him, not just for the enormous impact that he had on us all but also for keeping his amazing humour, even in the darkest moments. I will miss him so much."



Jake Lucky, an eSports player, added "May be at peace and rest." at peace."



Technoblade's father thanked fans during the farewell video, noting: "You meant a lot to him."



He explained that a portion of proceeds from online orders for the merchandise of his late son will now go to charities.



The video ended with a statement written by his family. It read: "We, Technoblade, wanted you to know how the much he was loved and respected by his colleagues and his fans."



"From Technoblade's very first days on the internet, he was constantly figuring out ways to delight and reward his audience - giving away online prizes as well as encouraging good sportsmanship and of course, sharing his Minecraft adventures to entertain and laugh.



"Even after his success the man remained his humour and good nature, and competed with an endearing balance of self-confidence and self-deprecating humor."



Minecraft lets users create their own experiences in an an imaginative virtual landscape, by digging holes to collect blocks.



Recent updates of the game have been used to assist children to explore and develop their skills and knowledge in the field of careers, and to find solutions to real world problems such as flooding.



Ted Nevison described Technoblade to be "effortlessly hilarious" and "endlessly talented". "Gone too quickly," he said.



Bad Boy Halo also paid their tributes, saying: "Words cannot express how you'll be missed. The lives you've touched and the impact you've made on them will be remembered for a lifetime."



Slimecicle said Technoblade's "personality and sense of humour are an inspiration to me and many others."



"Thank you for all that you did for a world that took you too soon. You will always be an icon."
