Minetest is the open source and free voxel game engine, inspired originally by Minecraft it's slowly becoming more and better, with a variety of games available for it. Minetest 5.4.0 is getting a new release. They've released their first release Candidate. This is the time to require as many users to test the software and ensure it runs properly.
When Minetest 5.0 released in 2019, they added an in-game interface to download mods and games. While it worked, they made improvements to it with each release. However, the dependency system was a problem. One mod needed another, which required another, and it went on. Finding the right one was a challenge but perhaps not anymore. The 5.4 release includes a new interface flow for downloading mods and games and games, as well as dependency resolution, an ability to update all, and download queues.
