If you'd like to try out the latest PlayStation 5 features before they go live for all, here's your chance. Sony has announced an open beta program for PS5 software in order to test what is supposedly a "major upgrade" later in the year. Perhaps we could expand the SSD? In the coming weeks, Sony will release more information about upcoming features.
Only PS5 owners located in the US and Canada can sign for the beta program. If you're selected for the program, you'll receive an email with info on how to download the beta firmware.
Microsoft has been operating the Xbox Insider Program for years, and even Sony has been able to tap into its customers to test beta patches for the PS4. This is a bigger problem. Sony may require all the testers it can get: PS5 is in its initial stages, and may be difficult to find the right version.

Windows 11 early hands-on
Windows 10 meets macOS. After playing around with the (now notorious) Windows 11 leak for several hours, Devindra Harawar says it feels an awful similar to macOS. Freddy's blog This could be due to the virtues of this first version being a minimalist, even Kondo-ed version of Windows 10. The new Taskbar is centered and acts exactly as it did in Windows 95. It houses the Start menu button, active applications, and the choice of shortcuts. But, it's all icons now. Devindra's full impressions are in the following article.
Microsoft hires Satya Nadella as its CEO
After Bill Gates, the second person to hold both of these roles is you.
Microsoft has appointed its CEO Satya Nadella as chair, being the first time that an individual has held both roles since Bill Gates stepped down as chief exec in 2000. It's a vote of confidence for a CEO that has helped Microsoft on every front: Microsoft is the world's second-highest-valued company, just behind Apple with a market value of $1.9 trillion. Nadella has also overseen several successful acquisitions which include Minecraft, LinkedIn, GitHub and, most recently, gaming giant ZeniMax. Continue reading.
All future Disney+ original series will be released on Wednesdays.
It's good because I'm excited for the upcoming 'Loki.' It wasn't an anomaly in time. Disney+ will now launch new episodes on Wednesdays. Although the previous series released new episodes on Fridays, Disney+ will now release them on Wednesdays. This could be due to Disney would like to keep the watercooler feel and encourage discussion about its newest shows before they launch on the weekends. There's always something to watch in the event that you're looking to watch an original film which will debut on Disney+. Continue reading.
"Metroid Dread" is a dark rebirth for Samus Aran
Something to play while we wait for 'Metroid Prime 4.' We talk to the creative force behind the 15-years-in-the-making Metroid series, Yoshio Sakamoto, who has guided it since the early days. Nintendo Switch will launch the free-to-start Pokemon MOBA in July.
Mobile users will have to wait until September to play 'Pokemon Unleap.'
It's nearly time for Pokemon Unite. The "free-to-start" MOBA will be released on the Nintendo Switch in July, and will be available on mobile devices in September. As before, the hook is the cross-platform play and eventually, you'll be able to square off against rivals regardless of the device you play on.
Of course, Unite isn't entirely free. You can earn additional in-game rewards by buying seasonal battle passes (which could cost real world currency), and you can also purchase Aeon gems which can be used to bring more Pokemon into battle. These can also be used to purchase items for your trainer and pocket monsters. Continue reading.
