When you plan your trip to Cairngorms, you should include a few things to consider. Birdwatching
There are several locations in the Cairngorms where birdwatchers are able to observe a variety birds. The Findhorn Valley is located at the northeastern tip of the Cairngorms. It is a steep cliffs , which are home to a broad range of birds. Here you will see golden eagles and hen harriers as well as white-tailed eagles as well as peregrine falcons. Wild goats can also be located.
Hiking
The hike to the Cairngorms with your family is a wonderful way for you to be in touch with nature. There are numerous hiking trails available for all levels and ages. There are both lowland and mountain trails suitable for children.
Skiing
Cairngorms skiing isn't just for winter. You can take advantage of floodlit slopes and a funicular train at this popular ski resort. You can also rent ski and snowboard equipment at the station for snowboard and ski.
Distilleries
Many distilleries can be located in the Cairngorms National Park. You can sample a variety of whiskies from the region, as well as some of Scotland's most renowned gins. You can also sample Persie gin or Caorunn Gin in Balmenach. You can also visit Aviemore's Cairngorm Brewery for traditional Scottish beers.
Golf courses
The Cairngorms are a great spot to play golf. There are two courses in the park. Ski resorts can play on various terrains and score different ways. The Kingussie course is a picturesque 18-hole course set amongst the parkland and woodlands. The Newtonmore course is situated on the south-west of the park, on the banks the upper River Spey.
Ballater
Ballater is an ideal spot to set up your base in the Scottish Highlands for your holiday. Its central location on the River Dee and its proximity to the Cairngorms national park makes it a great spot to stay. You'll find a variety of accommodation options here, including guest houses to B&Bs and chalets.
