binatang ini adalah hewan parasit setinggi 1,25 milimeter dengan bentuk seperti kepiting bertaring besar. mereka tertarik pada sihir dan mungkin bersarang di bulu makhluk-makhluk seperti Crup dan Augurey. mereka juga akan memasuki rumah-rumah penyihir dan menyerang benda-benda sihir seperti tongkat sihir, pelan-pelan menggerogoti tongkat itu sampai ke bagian inti sihirnya. atau juga berdiam di kuali kotor, tempat melahap tetes-tetes ramuan yang melekat. walaupun Chizpurfle cukup mudah dilenyapkan dengan sejumlah ramuan paten yang dijual di pasar-pasar, serbuan hebat Chizpurfle membutuhkan kunjungan bagian pemberantasan hama departemen pengaturan dan pengawasan makhluk gaib karena Chizpurfle yang bengkak akibat terkena zat-zat sihir terbukti sangat sukar dibasmi.

Dugbog adalah makhluk penghuni rawa-rawa yang ditemukan di Eropa serta Amerika Utara dan Selatan. saat tidak bergerak, wujudnya mirip sepotong kayu mati. tapi kalau kita amati lbh dekat lagi, akan terlihat kaki-kaki bersirip dan gigi-gigi yang amat tajam. makhluk ini meluncur dan melata di rawa-rawa, kebanyakan memangsa hewan-hewan mamalia kecil. kaki manusia yang melangkah melewati rawa-rawa itu bisa terluka parah akibat gigitannya. makanan kesukaan Dugbog adalah Mandrake. penanam Mandrake diketahui sering mencengkeram daun-daun salah satu tanaman pilihan mereka untuk menemukan sisa-sisa koyakan berdarah di bagian bawah tanaman, sebagai akibat perbuatan Dugbog.
