Amazon was today putting the finishing touches to its first phone which is expected to be revealed in the next few hours by its boss Jeff Bezos.
It is believed that the device will use retina-tracking technology that makes images on the display of the smartphone appear to float above the screen like a hologram and appear three-dimensional from all angles.'
It is believed that the handset will be initially offered in the US only by AT&T in an arrangement that mirrors the launch of the original iPhone.
Amazon's rumored holophone will be unveiled on June 18. On Wednesday, Amazon published a teaser video showing people's reactions towards the device. Previously images of the handset were leaked online. The most recent images (pictured) reveal a relatively slim handset that looks a lot like Apple's iPhone
AT&T's competitors have already been agitated by the reported deal.
John Legere, chief executive of T-Mobile Seattle, tweeted "Really @Amazon?" What happened to pride in your home town?
Previously images of the handset were leaked online.
It's been in development since 2009 at Lab126 Amazon's shady Silicon Valley hardware division.
More than 1,600 people claim Lab126 as their employer on the professional networking site LinkedIn, according to Business Week.
The latest images also show a thin handset that looks very much like Apple's iPhone.
BGR has stated that multiple reliable sources have confirmed the authenticity of the image. It was designed by Amazon graphic designers for internal use.
The handset is said to be influenced by the design of Apple's iPhone 5 and Google's Nexus handset.
As you can see in this new image published exclusively by BGR, Amazon's phone will feature an overall look that is similar to other full-touch smartphones currently available according to BGR.

It appears to take design cues from several existing smartphones including Apple's iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy S lineup and even the HTC One, which has a polished, chamfered bezel that is similar to the one seen on Amazon's phone.'
The handset is believed have a 4.7-inch display with HD resolution of 720p as well as it has a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, and six individual camera modules to make the 3D effect work.
It will run an extremely customized version Google's Android operating system, similar to that used on Amazon's Kindle Fire tablets.
The Amazon handset features an edge that is beveled, similar to the apple iPhone 5
In the past, the site has gotten images of the phone encased in an enclosure.
"Finally we have pictures of a prototype device that is yet to be released. This is the first look at Amazon's highly anticipated phone.
