The Kerem Tunnel offers a unique trail and riding experience to the benefit of
The Kerem Tunnel is the first cycle tunnel in Israel and was opened as part of the Jerusalem Ring Path, a 42-kilometer cycling route around the capital.
It links Nahal Refaim to Emek Motza. It has a southern entrance within Refaim Park. Ein Laban is the nearest. Nahal Ein Kerem is the northern entrance.
The 2.1-kilometer-long tunnel was inaugurated by Jerusalem's Heritage Minister ZeevElkin. It was also attended by Mayor Moshelion Avi Balehnikov, Gihon Water Company chairman, as well as hundreds of cyclists.
Jerusalem was once a very well-known tourist destination due to its historic past. Elkin stated that, in addition to its historic treasures, modern tourism is also included in the Jerusalem city. "The opening of the tunnel is an additional aspect of the growth of Jerusalem as well as it's transformation into an attractive tourist destination for all types in Israel and around the world.
Elkin who, along with the Jerusalem Municipality spearheaded the project, explained that his ministry "invests hundreds of millions of shekels every year in the development of the tourism industry in Jerusalem and the development of exciting activities and ventures that connect the glorious historical past of our capital city's eternal past to its future... I invite cyclists to enjoy an attractive, well-maintained cycle route, which overlooks the stunning landscape of Old Jerusalem.
Elkin's Ministry, the Tourism Ministry, Jerusalem Municipality and the Gihon Corporation all contributed to the project. The Jerusalem Development Authority completed the project.
Elkin stated, "The Kerem Tunnel project will be a central instrument for achieving our dream to change the way transportation is conducted in Jerusalem." "The new tunnel, which will connect with the Jerusalem Ring Path, will connect the existing cycle routes within the city, as well as those that will be paved within its different areas. https://nevefrietzki.co.il/ It's designed to encourage cycling within the city's residents and to promote an environmentally sustainable transportation system in Jerusalem."

"The Kerem Tunnel project is a central tool to realize the dream of transforming Jerusalem's transportation model. "
Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon
