Gamescom 2022 will feature new details for Minecraft Legends and Sega's Sonic Frontiers and will likely reveal more on Modern Warfare 2 and Bethesda's Space RPG that is coming out Starfield. You can still view the live stream that opened the night hosted by Geoff Keighley from your computer even though it's the first Gamescom live since 2019. Here's how to watch Gamescom 2022.
Gamescom 2022 kicks off August 23, and if you're watching from the UK the event starts at 7PM, with those on the US East Coast able to tune in at 2PM, whereas viewers on PT can start at 11AM.
The most important news that has been confirmed so far is the unveiling of further details and hopefully extra gameplay footage from Sonic Frontiers, but host Geoff Keighley has also confirmed that the Gamescom opening show will include "30+ games" It's possible that there will be more games in 2022's biggest releases will be teased, too.
Minecraft servers
Call of Duty: Vanguard received an additional gameplay trailer during last year's event and, therefore, Modern Warfare 2 seems like an ideal choice for this year - be sure to read our guide to the Modern Warfare 2 beta release date and how to play it. We may also see FIFA 23, God of War: Ragnarok and the coming survival horror The Callisto Protocol. Our personal most-wanted items include Dead Space Resident Evil 4's remake and Starfield. But for now we're left to speculate and hope.
The opening event will be streamed live on the official Game Awards YouTube and Twitch channels. It's possible to tune at least a half hour prior to the event, as past events have included announcements as well as gameplay footage. And of course, if you're thinking of going to Cologne, Germany, and watching Gamescom in person, you'll be able to purchase a ticket from the event's official website. Xbox will also have its own stream at Gamescom, where it's scheduled to showcase Minecraft Legends and A Plague Tale: Requiem. You can stream it through any Xbox social channel including YouTube.
