Minecraft's account migration to Microsoft is underway, and some players aren't happy with. While Mojang claims the move improves security and will result in more safety features, some players who have multiple accounts are reported to be locked out, and the move is a must.
The change was first announced last month and is primarily focused on security. Once you've made the switch, you can use two-factor authentication. As of March 10, though you'll have to transfer your account to keep playing Minecraft, and that's caused some angst with some players.
Docm77, one of the Minecraft creator of content, calls the account migration the "biggest error in the history of Minecraft" via Twitter. The reason is that if you have multiple accounts, you'll have to create a Microsoft account for each. This issue can lead to your Microsoft account being blocked because of certain terms-of-service requirements.
