NEW YORK - Sept. 8 2022 /PRNewswire/- Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record-breaking numbers of travelers from the United States who visited Israel in July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 travelers from the United States in July 2022, a 4% increase from 2019, and 71,000 total travelers from the United States in August 2022 which is an increase of 13% from 2019.
Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner. "It is thrilling to once again witness an rise in tourism to Israel from the United States. Already reaching the record-breaking numbers in 2019," he stated. "The United States has been the most important source of tourism for Israel inbound. Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19, we were celebrating record numbers of Israel's tourism entry each month.
Not far behind the United States, Canada is in the process of surpassing its tourist arrivals in Israel by 7,200 tourists in July 2022 and 6,000 in August.
Gal Hana is the Consul and Director for Canada within the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We are not too far away from our record for 2019 and we expect that the growth in travels to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians feel more confident traveling internationally."
Israel has hosted more than 4.6million visitors in the year 2019 of which 969,600 came from the United States. Since May, when the country opened to all visitors regardless of vaccination status More than 600,000.400 US visitors have visited Israel.
