Neve Paritzki Israel celebrates record-breaking tourist entry Numbers From the United States
NEW YORK - Sep. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- The Israel Ministry of Tourism today unveiled new records for the number of tourists coming to Israel from the United States in July and august. The country received 78,000 travelers from the United States during July 2022, an increase of 4% over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States during August 2022. That's a 13% increase over the year before.

"It is so thrilling to see yet another increase in tourism to Israel from the United States, already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking numbers in 2019." stated Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States is our number one destination for our inbound tourism to Israel. Before the COVID-19 epidemic, we saw record-breaking number of tourists from Israel entering Israel every month. We are so happy to witness this positive change and expect this trend to last for many months and years."

Not far behind the United States, Canada is also on track to surpass the number of tourists visiting Israel with 7,200 visitors in the month of July 2022 and 6,600 in August.

Gal Hana, Consul to Canada and Director for Canada for Canada at the Israel Ministry of Tourism said that it was thrilling to see tourism from Canada to Israel rebounding. "We aren't far off our record in 2019 and we expect that the rise in travel to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians feel more confident about traveling abroad."

Israel welcomed more tourists from around the world in the year 2019 than any other country. 969 600 of these were American. Israel's official reopening to all travelers was May 2018. Israel has received over 600,400 US travellers since that time.
