Minecraft meet-up in Peterborough described as "awful"

Parents of Minecraft gamers are angry at the absence of activities and lines at an unofficial convention.

On the Saturday, about 4,100 people attended MineVention at Peterborough Arena to meet stars and take part in games.
However, a lot of people have said they waited in line for hours to see idols and eat meals, and are suing for refunds.
Lisa O'Brien, the organizer Lisa O'Brien, the organizer, said that the lines were too long and she will issue a statement on refunds on time.
The event is not affiliated with Minecraft developer Mojang and was first held in Ireland. It was the first time that it was held in the UK.

It offered fans of the worldwide gaming phenomenon Minecraft - where players build a host of objects using cubic blocks - the opportunity to meet the world's most famous "Youtubers" and get photos and play games.
The event was hosted by Jason Bradbury, TV's Gadget Show host, and urged viewers to dress up as Steve the game's protagonist in an attempt to break the world record.
But afterwards it came under criticism on social media, with people complaining about long queues and a absence of food and merchandise stalls and activities for fans.
Vicky Abraham posted on Facebook that she had waited with her son, who is five years old, for more than an hour just 30 seconds on a laptop.
Another parent claimed she waited 45 minutes for a bottle of water, saying the event was "appalling" with "naff-all to do". Another parent contacted the BBC to inform them that they left the venue after half an hour due to the long lines and her son was "crying throughout the journey to home".
Some posted on Facebook However, they were satisfied, with one comment: "I thought you put on a great party for PS15."
Lisa O'Brien, of O'Brien Event Management She said that she did "sympathise with parents, since we all have children". She said the queues were 45 minutes too long due to the number of people who showed up on the day, rather than buying tickets in advance.
She claimed that the convention has never been held on the scale it was before, and that some official merchandise didn't arrive in time for the event.
She stated that organizers had "taken into consideration all comments, suggestions, and suggestions" and that they would be meeting to resolve any issues. A second statement will be released on Monday evening.
