Fans of Ragnarok Online especially in Southeast Asia will be filled with joy and excitement in this return of the legendary MMORPG Ragnarok Online under a new publisher. According to inews24 Electronics Extreme, a Thai Online Gaming Company, was the new publisher who was granted the rights by Gravity (Ragnarok’s original publisher) to relaunch Ragnarok Online. Some of the countries that were that are included in the relaunch include Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.

Let's talk about Ragnarok Online's return to Southeast Asia. With rumored approximately 1 million dollars in licensing fees, Gravity Corporation hope that the new publisher Electronics Extreme will revive the nostalgic memories of the first Ragnarok to gamers, especially Filipinos. The success of Philippine Ragnarok Online, which was launched in 2003, is due to its well-balanced gameplay and active community. Although some criticize its character graphics as if they were a paper doll, still many Filipinos did not consider these minor flaw as a reason not to allow them to play the game. And I can still remember also(even though I didn't play the game, I would always watch my cousin playing), before you can access and play Ragnarok Online, you need loads of cards to be topped up. The Filipinos are so enthusiastic about the game that they will pay a lot for it.
In March 2015 the glory days of Philippine Ragnarok Online was ended and shuts down its server due to its declining sales. For me, the cause of this drop is the rise of mobile games, which players find more attractive and portable. Ragnarok players are unable to discover the nostalgic appeal of Ragnarok MMORPG. In the midst of the declining glory days of Ragnarok, Filipinos find a way to revive Ragnarok by creating or joining private servers.
