Goes over the chapter- asks students something they learned that was interesting or important to get a gist of what they learned reading it.

Does attendance at beginning of class.
G.R.O.W.T.H Mindset- Having an open mind- whether it be time management and organization, open to critiques; goals and more.

GRIT- He goes over this.
Growth. Resilience. Instinct. Tenacity.

Very loud to points- when he goes over the road rage comparing to Resilience.

-No cards on desks. He definitely knows the names of his students.

Talks VERY FIRMLY about believing in yourself.

Similarities:

Gives students video. The one he shows today goes over GRIT. This teacher s very passionate about this topic.

Video notes/traits:
-Motivational
-Education makes people measure IQ the best.
-Makes comparisons. She ASSUMED which teacher will be teaching end of school year, which students will win the spelling bee, and which cadets will pass basic training.
-The girl makes the point that G.R.I.T is what determines this, not assumptions based on looks or just first glance.
-Grittier kids were significantly more likely to graduate.
-Not just military or a spelling bee is where G.R.I.T is important, but also school. It keeps you from failing.
-There's no way to know how to expand your G.R.I.T (I think it comes naturally. Maturity too.)

Teacher gets clashed (Idea wise) with student:
-Does not get mad.
-Talks about it.
-Takes the opposite side, doesn't argue.
-Teacher is very understanding. Actually, agrees somewhat with student.

Quotes teacher gives:
"Allow failure to be an experience that you learn from."
"Whatever we expect with confidence becomes our own self-fulfilling prophecy."
I think the teacher talks from a script or at least a list of things to talk about. But he does it in a way that isn't even really obvious.

"It's the last rep that matters! The one that makes you feel the burn." Basically, pushing extra no matter how much, as long as its EXTRA, that matters.
He wants someone who's smarter, that way he will have a better program.

Paragraph Options-
-Different analogies: uses athletes as an example to talk about GRIT being more important that intelligence.
- Makes students interact with each other: A group project, group activities. These are very important. My professor slightly did one. But he also did do a whole fundraiser.
- This teacher is at teaching about G.R.I.T, while mine is talking about money tips.
