The Camera's Behavior is Different To Minecraft's

The initial version, released on December 2, 2009 was more limited than any other edition of Minecraft ever released to the public, including the pre-classic version that is accessible via the Minecraft Launcher. An update on December 4, 2009, changed the controls and added broadscreen, more blocks and the ability to put and destroy blocks. [2]

The original site hosting the game was taken down in November 2014. Its archive can still be accessed using the Wayback Machine. The executable is also available on the Internet Archive.

On December 2, 2012 Notch released a JavaScript version of Minecraft 4k. This version does not allow you to move or look around but the camera or the entire world can move by itself. There's also a blue water-like brick that you can add to the other kinds of blocks. [3]

1 Gameplay 1.1 General, 1.2 World 1.3 Controls

Gameplay[]

General[]

The player can place and destroy blocks. The only block a player can put is grass, reminiscent of the very first builds of Minecraft internally called RubyDung which are available through the Minecraft Launcher. Leaves do not decay.

World[]

The same 64x64x63 block universe is created each time the game is loaded. The only blocks in the game are air, grass block bricks, dirt, stones, wood, and leaves - are scattered throughout the world. No mobs exist.

The first version of the game has one type of block which uses a XOR fractal as an image.

An invisible wall is a barrier that surrounds the world, stopping the player from fleeing as in invisible bedrock or an old world.

Controls[]

The player can move around using standard WASD controls, as well as jump using Space.

Left- and right-clicking controls are different from traditional Minecraft controls. Left-click puts blocks, while right-clicks destroy them. Middle-clicks can also place blocks in a different way. Moving the mouse turns the camera "smoothly," similar to pressing F8 in Java Edition, and cannot be altered in this version.

The camera behaves differently than Minecraft's. The camera only moves when the cursor is moved away from the center of Minecraft's viewport. Blocks around the world are chosen by the cursor, and not than the center of the screen.

The game lacks any sort of menu options or HUD.

Graphics[]

The graphics appear pixelated as a result of the game's rendering at a low resolution. Even at higher resolution, the game does not scale the resolution correctly and the noisy appearance is retained. Block textures are similar to those used in Classic because Classic 0.30 (Creative) was the most recent version of Minecraft at the time. Most blocks appear noisier than their Minecraft counterparts, however certain blocks, like stone, are a lot different. The absence of a skybox indicates that the sky is black.

When you hover your cursor over the block the outline of the block is thick and white, in contrast to Minecraft's thin gray outline of the block selection.

Blocks[]

The first version of the game comes with only one non-air-block.

In the second version, block IDs are stored with four bits, giving 16 possible IDs. These are typically filled with slightly different textured dirt.
