Noob or Not?

About This Quiz As described by The New Yorker as a cross between Minecraft and the Hunger Games, this video game is extremely popular with teenagers, kids, tweens and beyond. Between its launch in September 2017 and November 2018 the epic battle game has attracted 200 million players worldwide. Of those, 78.3 millions are active players. Not sure about that significance? Minecraft Servers If you're a gamer, consider the number of games in your collection that are hidden in a thick layer dust.

It's not just children playing in their parents basements. Many athletes and celebrities are fascinated by the game, like rapper Drake, who along with the famous gamer Ninja broke the record for non-tournament Twitch viewers, with an impressive 635,000 concurrent viewers at the height of their live gaming stream. The phenomenon is widely known because JuJu Smith-Schuster from the Steelers, Josh Hart from Los Angeles Lakers and a myriad of other pro baseball players are regular participants. Eric Ebron, Indianapolis Colts tight end even incorporates the game into a celebration of a touchdown dancing.

Fortnite is not all roses and sunshine. Fortnite has been criticized due to its use of dance moves and is currently suing to determine whether copyright laws are infringed. Fortnite has even gotten so big (or out of control, depending on your point of view) that parents are hiring coaches to help their children achieve success in the virtual world. How in the world do you feel about this global phenomenon? Learn more about Fortnite or be hip and learn about it with this quiz!

Nothing, it's completely free

Fortnite Battle Royale's secret to success is the fact that it is free to download to any gaming system. Purchases can be made in the game to earn V-Bucks which in turn pay for skins, pickaxes or gliders, battle passes, and more. Fortnite Save the World is a different version of the game, that players currently need to buy. Epic Games, the game's creator, says it will be available for free in 2018.

Shopping cart

That's right, a typical shopping cart is a vehicle in Fortnite terms. The only other vehicle currently available is the golf cart. Why is this? Epic Games has expressed concern regarding how the addition of new vehicles will impact the overall game's flow.

Season 4 saw the dramatic destruction of Dusty Depot by a meteor, effectively turning it into Dusty Divot. All locations in the game are named with alliteration, such as Loot Lake, Greasy Grove and so on.

50 Vs 50

Playground

Epic Games determines the time limits for LTM modes. Playground mode allows up to four players to practice their skills within the game, including structure building and shooting. Playground mode allows players to get killed, but they can respawn immediately, unlike normal game modes.

They are also known as "loot llamas," these pinatas appear automatically within the game (only in three locations in Battle Royale, 100 in Playground mode) and contain 200 materials from every resource, like wood, brick and even metal. They also contain explosives, potions, med kits, and other useful items.

Fortnite's weapons are coded based on the difficulty of finding them in the game. They also come with a descriptive name. In order of the least to the most rare they are: Common/Gray Blue/Rare, Green/Uncommon Gold/Legendary, and Purple/Epic.

Known as "dance emotes" within the game, players have the option to boogie down anytime in the lobby or battlefield. In addition to "Fresh," which is based on "The Carlton," players can also perform choreography such as "The Worm,"" "Take the L" and "Disco Fever,"" based on John Travolta's iconic "Saturday Night Fever" moves.

Katy Perry

Alfonso Ribeiro

The backpack the child

If you haven't seen anyone floss, your eyes simply haven't been opened. The dance was invented by a teenage YouTube phenomenon in 2016 just before Fortnite was launched. Known as "the backpack kid," he later performed the bizarrely hypnotic dance move during Katy Perry's stint on Saturday Night Live. However, the dance's popularity increased when Fortnite included it in its dance emotes.
