Amazon was today finishing up its first phone. It will be announced by Jeff Bezos within hours.



The phone is expected to utilize retina-tracking technology, so that images on the smartphone's screen appear to float above' the screen like a Hologram and appear three-dimensional from all angles.



AT&T will be the first to offer the handset in the US, in a deal similar to the launch of the original iPhone.



The much-rumoured holophone from Amazon is scheduled to be revealed on June 18. Amazon released a teaser trailer on Wednesday, displaying people's reactions to the handset. The handset's images have were previously released online. The most recent images (pictured) show a thin handset - that looks similar to Apple's iPhone



The rumoured deal has upset AT&T's competitors.

John Legere, chief executive of T-Mobile Seattle John Legere, chief executive of T-Mobile Seattle, tweeted "Really @Amazon?" What happened to home-town pride?



Images of the phone were previously released on the internet.



It has been under development since 2009 at Lab126 Amazon's secretive Silicon Valley hardware division.



According to Business Week, more than 1,600 people have claimed Lab126 on the professional networking site LinkedIn as their employer.



The latest images also show a slim handset that looks a lot like Apple's iPhone.



BGR has stated that multiple reliable sources have confirmed the authenticity of the image. The image was created by Amazon graphic designers for internal use.



The handset is inspired by the design of Google's Nexus handset and Apple's iPhone 5.



BGR confirmed that the phone will be similar to other full-touch smartphones on the market as shown in the new image.

It appears to borrow design cues from a variety of phones, including Apple's iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy S lineup and even the HTC One, which has a chamfered, polished bezel much like the one seen on Amazon's phone.'



The handset is expected feature a 4.7 inch display with HD resolution of 720p, the quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB RAM, and six separate camera module to create the 3D effect.



It will run a highly customized version of Google's Android operating system that is similar to that used on Amazon's Kindle Fire tablets.



The Amazon handset has a beveled edge similar to apple's iPhone 5



The site has previously obtained images of the phone encased in the protective case.



We have also gotten exclusive images of a prototype for the device that is not yet released and are giving the world a first glimpse of Amazon's much anticipated phone, the website previously BGR stated.
