Rubio beat Governor Crist (twice, if you count bailing from the GOP primary), so what's next for the Governor? "Going fishing and finishing strong for the people of Florida" he said earlier. I'll miss our wacky Governor's survival antics and one-liners. This is probably going to be it for him. I actually hope not and would like to see him pop up on television somewhere. He's just too much fun to watch.

In the past three elections, nationwide sales of U.S. Presidential candidate masks revealed the winner days before general election results were in. In 2004 the Spirit Halloween Presidential Index showed George W. Bush masks outselling John Kerry masks at a rate of 65% to 35%. In click here . Bush mask took 57% of the sales vs. 43% for Al Gore. And in 1996 Bill Clinton masks were 71% of the market vs. 29% for Bob Dole. A fluke or a real predictor?

Why is that? Canadian law doesn't limit how long politicians can campaign, but it does strictly limit how much money they can spend on a campaign. That's no matter if it's the candidate's own money, or money contributed by supporters or special interests. And Canada seems to have been a pretty well run country over the years.

The problem is the process. We've got this long drawn out primary and caucus garbage that gets us no where but to bed earlier each night. It lasts from early January until June a total of six months. And there was a total of 10 months of campaigning before the voting even started.

Voters in the U.S. are just as smart (I think) as those in Canada, the U.K., Greece or wherever. We really could also 'get it' after having it hammered at us for only a month or so.

Alan Grayson's concession speech was an eye opener. He displayed a very rare moment of vulnerability. It wasn't the fire-breathing monster that the country saw on the house floor or on television. It wasn't the big Hollywood production type of display, that were shown on his commercials.
