Minecraft's silent landscaper Steve has left his world of blocks and stepping into Telltale's world of stories: Minecraft is getting a "narrative-driven" game from the folks behind The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones games. keep calm and say ‘arrr’ Similar to Telltale's other games, Minecraft: Story Mode will be episodic and available on a variety of platforms when it launches "some time in 2015." Despite the acquisition, it appears that Microsoft's promise to keep Minecraft multiplatform is still in place.
Telltale describes the game as a collaboration with Mojang and says that it won't exist as an attachment for Minecraft. Instead it will be a standalone series "driven by the player's preferences." Mojang and Telltale both say they are working with the community to develop the story. Mojang specifically states, "We're certain that we will not make an official story for Steve [the main protagonist in Minecraftor to explain the world of Minecraft in depth."
We don't have any photos or videos yet of the game's gameplay, however we're expecting to see a style similar to Minecraft's art style.
