Play is at the core of everything we do, but safety comes first. Yes, even before play. To accomplish this, Mojang Studios enlist the assistance of moderators who work tirelessly to maintain Minecraft's welcoming environment.
This is something we've been working on for many years, but we've recently added new moderation options to the Bedrock version of Minecraft that we will be rolling out in the coming months. These tools are designed to ensure that all our players are at least as secure as possible in Minecraft and Realms on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Windows 10, iOS, and Android.
So, what's new? Minecraft moderators are able to ban players who do not adhere to our Community Guidelines when they send online messages via our services (Realms) or Featured Servers. They also may ban players from communicating online using signposts or books. Of course, the content of single-player games is not moderated.
Farming is a profession of hope
Currently, moderators can hand out permanent bans, which cover all versions of Minecraft (except Minecraft Dungeons) in order to focus on the most serious offenses, that are designed to harm others. We are also in the process of introducing temporary bans for lesser crimes.
A message will be sent to users if they are banned. It will also include details on how they can cancel their Realms subscription. For more details, including examples of severe offenses and guidelines on what to do if you're banned, visit the Minecraft Help Center.
We are introducing these tools to ensure that our Community Guidelines will be implemented. This will enable us to create an enjoyable, positive environment for our players. And there's more to be added. We are constantly evaluating new ways to make our community a safer space for everyone, and we will keep you informed of the development.
