in the past, people went to caves to paint handprints and other cave art. Tribes go inside with an ochre, water, and a hollow tube which they use to paint, or they could paint their hands and put it into the stone. There are men, women, and children who go inside the cave to paint handprints. But why do they paint handprints? There are many interpretations of it, one is they use it to communicate with their dead loved ones, they cut the top of their fingers and put their hands on the stone wall and paint it. Second, it is seen as ancient fingerprint identifications like, I have been here in this cave, or as traffic signs, informing us about the location of fertile hunting grounds, or they were handshakes.
