Neve Paritzki Israel Celebrates Record-Breaking Tourism Entry Numbers from USA
NEW YORK - Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ - Today, the Israel Ministry of Tourism has announced record-breaking figures of tourists from the United States who visited Israel in the months of July and August. 78,000 visitors from the United States visited Israel in July 2022. This represents a 4% increase over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States in august 2022. This is 13% higher than in the year 2019.

"It is thrilling to once again see an increase in tourism to Israel from the United States, already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking numbers for the year 2019." stated Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States is our most important market for Israel's inbound tourism. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we saw record-breaking numbers of tourists from Israel visiting Israel each month. We are extremely happy to have witnessed this positive change, and we expect this trend to last for a long time."

Canada is in the process, like the United States, to surpass its tourist arrivals into Israel. In July 2022, Canada had 7,200 visitors while August saw the number increase to 6,000.

Gal Hana is the Consul and Director for Canada within the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We are not too far away from our record 2019 and we expect that the rise in travel to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians feel more confident about traveling across the globe."


Israel received more tourists from all over the world during 2019 than any other country. 969 600 of them were American. Israel's official reopening to all tourists was in May of 2018. The country has already welcomed more than 600,400 US travellers since that time.
