Neve Paritzki Israel is celebrating record-breaking Tourism Entry From the United States
NEW YORK - Sep. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ - The Israel Ministry of Tourism today released new records for arrivals of tourists to Israel from the United States in July and August. The country received 78,000 travelers from the United States during July 2022 which was an increase by 4% over 2019 and 71,000 visitors from the United States during August 2022. This is a 13% increase over the year before.


Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner. "It is thrilling to see a new growth in tourism to Israel from the United States. Already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking number of the year 2019," he stated. "The United States is our most popular destination for tourism to Israel and prior to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced, we had record-breaking tourist numbers every month. We're extremely pleased to witness an improvement in the trend and anticipate a steady increase in the coming many months and years to follow."

Canada is in the process, as the United States, to surpass the number of tourists who visit Israel. In July 2022 Canada saw 7,200 tourists and August saw 6,600.

Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism said that "it's amazing to see how Canada’s tourism is rebounding." "We are not far off our record-setting numbers in 2019, and we are anticipating that the growth in travel to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians remain confident about traveling abroad."

Israel received more than 4.6 million tourists from abroad in the year 2019, with 969.600 of them coming from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all tourists, no matter whether they have been vaccination-free. It has already hosted over 600,000.
