The White House appears to be trying to capitalize on the fascination with augmented reality after Pokemon Go's success. 1600 is now available as an official White House app. All Kinds Of Games Anyone can use it on a smartphone, tablet or computer and a $1 bill to explore 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest today wrote that President Obama has utilized traditional occasions as well as new technology to open the White House's doors to more Americans than ever before.
While the app won't give you any security clearance, it does provide a cute, 3D-interactive version of the White House when you point your camera at a dollar note. As you fly through the tiny, Minecraft-esque White House, you can even watch as major events like like state arrival ceremonies and the annual Easter Egg Roll unfold.
The app is free to download (Thanks, Obama) and was developed by the White House Historical Association and Nexus Studios. It is compatible with Android and iOS devices.
