Everything you Need to Know about the HUGE Caves and Cliffs Update

Minecraft just got much bigger with new blocks, mobs and more. Caves & Cliffs Part 1 is now available so you can finally get in there and begin mining.

Caves & Cliffs Part One Release Date



We finally got a release date for the latest update, which was a surprise. It is available for both Bedrock and Java on June 8th, which is today.



It makes sense that it dropped one week prior to E3 to allow people to take it in and not be distracted by the constant announcements about the game. That being said you can play it right now.



Pre-release launch



The last snapshot was deleted for the update. This was due to an unexpected problem. This being said we finally received a preview of Caves & Cliffs



Sliced Lime Minecraft's tech lead announced the news via Twitter. This was the first prerelease and an important part of development that will lead to today's release.



An Update on the Mobs



Caves & Cliffs Special's most recent episode includes Minecraft's Axolotl, Glow Squid and Goat.

Release date for Update 1.17



Although the release date for the first installment has been set at June 8, we don't know when it will be released. However, we were informed that Caves and Cliffs Part 1 will be released in summer, while part 2 will be released around the holiday season.



Minecraft players were ready to wait for a few days between the announcement and the release of the Nether Update. Now, we have an update window to determine when the content will be available.

Caves & Cliffs Update content



Minecraft is set to become even more beautiful with more creative content for both mountains or caves.



There will be new biomes like lush caves brimming with life and dripstone caves brimming with stalactites and stalagmites.



Caves are a diverse place and this is the name of the game. The Caves & Cliffs Update will retain a traditional feel, but offer something for all.

There are a variety of new mobs. The terrifying Warden is heading to the darkest, most secluded caves.



Along with the monstrous mob will come more friendly ones! Axolotls and goats will be added to water, while the Overworld will be home to them on the new mountain ranges.

Caves & Cliffs Update will introduce a brand new method of mining. Players will carefully search for rare and fragile artifacts brushing away dirt rather than smashing them with a pickaxe.



New ore



Find the latest copper ore or gorgeous Amethyst crystal geodes which can be mined to create new crafting materials. The Caves & Cliffs Update will bring you a lot of new crafting blocks and recipes, including sensors that detect movement, telescopes, lightning rods, leaf platforms and lots more.



Lush Caves



A new biome! Lush Caves promise to be alive with life. They will add colour and interest to the caves and also the danger of tunnelling.



There is a brand new tree, Azalea, which indicates the location of the Lush Cave is while on the surface.



Spore blossoms, an innovative block that hangs from the roof, emits particles similar to those in New Nether.



Here you'll find adorable axolotls that live in water bodies too.



Redstone additions



The new sculk block can detect movement and send out an Redstone signal. It's similar to an motion sensor.



This new feature will be amazing in the hands of expert Redstone engineers since it behaves like wireless Redstone!



This new mob lurks deep in the darkest caves. It is adapted to darkness and can sense movement, so be aware!

Crystals



Growing from an unobtainable block, these crystals are not only very pretty but they're also very useful too! To create an entirely new recipe, you must first locate the crystals and then build a new recipe around them.



From the crystals you get shards that can be used to build telescopes! !



To build it you'll need copper! It's true, Minecraft is getting a new ore. Copper blocks will also turn green as they age, just as in real life. This adds a sense of the passage of time to your surroundings.



Bundles



In the past, limited inventory has been a major issue for Minecraft, and as more blocks get added, players are struggling with carrying their belongings.

The Bundle can help fix this. Bundles can be used to store a variety of items, as well as stacks of items. This means you can carry one bundle and have 64 cobblestones and 64 iron ingots as well as some flowers in one inventory slot.
