NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today record-breaking numbers of tourists from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. Israel welcomed 78,000 tourists from the United States for July 2022. This is a four percent increase over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States for August 2022. This is a 13% improvement from the year before.
Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. "The United States is the leading market for Israel inbound tourism. Prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we were celebrating record-breaking numbers of tourism entry month after month. It's a great positive shift that we are pleased to witness and expect an upward trend for months to come."
In line with in the United States, Canada is also on track to exceed its tourist arrivals in Israel by 7,200 tourists in July 2022 , and 6,000 in August.
Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism stated that "it's thrilling to observe the way that tourism in Canada is booming." "We aren't too far from our record-setting numbers in 2019 and we anticipate that this increase in the number of travelers to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians continue to feel more comfortable travelling abroad."
Israel received more tourists from around the world in 2019 than any other country. 969 600 of them were Americans. Israel's official reopening for travellers from May 2018. The country has welcomed more than 600,400 US tourists since the time of opening.
