NEW YORK - Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, the Israel Ministry of Tourism has announced record-breaking figures of visitors from the United States who visited Israel in July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 Americans in July 2022. It was a 4 percent increase over the year before and 71,000 tourists from the United States were in Israel during August 2022.
Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) said it was exciting to observe a rise in Israeli tourism coming from the United States. Already surpassing our record-breaking figures for 2019 he stated. "The United States is the leading market for Israel inbound tourism. Prior to the COVID-19 Pandemichit, we were celebrating record-breaking figures of tourist entry each month. It's a great positive change that we are pleased to witness and expect an upward trend for many months to come."
Canada which isn't too far from the United States of America, is on track for surpassing its tourist arrivals to Israel. It had 7,200 visitors in the month of July 2022 as well as 6,000 tourists in August.
"It is so exciting to see how Canada's tourism to Israel is growing," said Gal Hana Consul and Director of Canada of the Israel Ministry of Tourism. We're not too far from our record 2019 numbers and we expect that this growth in Israel travel will continue to grow as Canadians find it easier to travel internationally."
Israel received more visitors from all over the world during 2019 than any other country. 969 600 of these were American. Israel's official reopening for travellers from May 2018. The country has already welcomed more than 600,400 US travellers since that time.
