NEW YORK - Sept. 8 2022 /PRNewswire/ Today, the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record-breaking numbers of tourists from the United States who visited Israel during the months of July and August. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States during July 2022 which was an increase by 4% over 2019 and 71,000 visitors from the United States during August 2022. This is a 13% increase over the year before.
נווה פריצקי "It is so exciting to once again see an increase in tourism to Israel from the United States, already reaching the record-breaking levels of 2019." stated Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States is our number one market for travel to Israel, and before the outbreak of COVID-19 was announced, we had record-breaking numbers of tourism entries every month. We're so happy to see an improvement in the trend and anticipate a steady upward trajectory for many months and years to be."
Not far behind in the United States, Canada is in the process of surpassing its tourism numbers in Israel by 7,200 tourists in July 2022 , and 6,000 in August.
Gal Hana (Consul and Director for Canada, Israel Ministry of Tourism) said that "it is thrilling to see how Canada's tourism to Israel is booming." We're still not far from our record numbers for 2019, and we anticipate that this increase in Israel travel will continue to grow as Canadians find it easier to travel abroad."
Israel received more tourists from around the world in 2019 than any other nation. 969 600 were American. Israel's official reopening for all travelers was May 2018. Israel has welcomed over 600,400 US travellers since that time.
