NEW YORK - Sept. 8th, 2022/PRNewswire• In July and August of 2018, the Israel Ministry of Tourism recorded record numbers of visitors from the United States. The country received 78,000 travelers from the United States in July 2022 which is an increase of 4% from the year before and 71,000 travelers from the United States in August 2022 which is an increase of 13% from 2019.
"It is so thrilling to see yet another increase in tourist numbers to Israel from the United States, already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking numbers in 2019" stated Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States is the most popular destination for Israel inbound tourism. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had record-breaking figures of tourist entry month after month. It's a fantastic positive change that we are pleased to witness and anticipate an upward trajectory for months to be."
Canada, which has 7,200 tourists in July 2022 and 6,000 in August, isn't too far behind the United States.
Gal Hana (Consul and Director for Canada, Israel Ministry of Tourism) said that "it is so exciting to see how Canada's tourism to Israel is booming." "We aren't far off our record in 2019 and we are anticipating that the growth in travels to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians feel more confident about traveling abroad."
Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million visitors in the year 2019. 969,600 came of the United States. The country's officially reopening to travelers in May has seen more than 600,000.
