NEW YORK - Sep. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- The Israel Ministry of Tourism today released new records for tourist arrivals in Israel from the United States in July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 Americans during July 2022. It was a four percent increase from 2019, while 71,000 American tourists were in Israel during August 2022.
Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. "The United States is our most important market for inbound tourism for Israel. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had record numbers of Israeli tourists entering Israel every month. We are extremely happy to see an improvement in the trend and expect this trend to last for a long time."
Canada, not too far behind the United States of America, is on track for surpassing the number of tourists visiting Israel. The country had 7,200 tourists in July 2022 as well as 6,000 August.
Gal Hana, Consul to Canada and Director for Canada at the Israel Ministry of Tourism said that it was thrilling to see tourism from Canada to Israel returning. We are getting close to our record-setting numbers for the year 2019 and we expect that this increase in travel to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians feel more at home abroad.
Israel welcomed more than 4.6million tourists in 2019, 969,600 of which were from the United States. Since May that year, when Israel is now open to all tourists, regardless of their vaccination status More than 600,000.400 US visitors have visited Israel.
