NEW YORK - Sept. 8 2022, /PRNewswire/- Today, the Israel Ministry of Tourism revealed record-breaking numbers of visitors from the United States who visited Israel in July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 Americans in July 2022. It was a four percent increase from 2019 seven thousand tourists from America were in Israel during August 2022.
Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) stated that it was exciting to observe the growth in Israeli tourism coming from the United States. נווה פריצקי Already surpassing the record-breaking numbers of 2019, he added. "The United States is our most popular destination for tourism to Israel and prior to the outbreak of COVID-19 that was sweeping the world, we were celebrating record-breaking tourism entry numbers each month. We're thrilled to witness such a positive shift and we anticipate an upswing for the many months and years to follow."
Canada is poised to surpass Israel's arrivals in tourist numbers 7200 tourists are expected to visit Israel in the month of July 2022 and 6,600 in August.
Gal Hana is the Consul and Director for Canada within the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We are getting close to our record numbers for the year 2019. We believe that this growth will continue to grow as Canadians visit more countries.
In 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million international tourists including 969,600 from the United States, and since the country's official opening to any traveler regardless of vaccination status in May this year Israel has received over 600,400 US tourists.
