Every PC gamer who has used a custom-weighted mouse with 20,000 DPI knows that communication is essential in multiplayer games. To that end, AMD is aiming to make you easier to understand while using a mic in-game. AMD Noise Suppression will use the background noise of your graphics card to block out any noises from your surroundings like air conditioners, or your personal speakers. If you utilize this new technology to say things like "gee gee GTFO newb," well, that's on you.
The new system is a competitor to Nvidia's RTX Voice feature (now part of the Nvidia Broadcast suite), doing more or less the identical thing. Despite the connection with gaming and the use of a Ryzen 5000+ CPU or Radeon RX 6000+ GPU, the AMD Noise Suppression feature doesn't limit itself to in-game communications. Once the driver has been configured it can be used with any application that utilizes voice input. This includes Zoom, Discord, Microsoft Teams, Discord and other applications that use voice input.
Also included in the Adrenalin 22.7.1 driver update are some significant OpenGL improvements, which AMD claims will improve performance in games like Minecraft by up to 90 percent on certain RX 6000 cards. Radeon Super Resolution (the older standard rather than the more impressive FSR 2) now works on more notebooks with discrete RX cards of 5000 and 6000 in hybrid graphic setups and is now able to work for borderless fullscreen mode.
