Neve Paritzki Israel celebrates record-breaking tourist entry Indicators From the United States
NEW YORK - Sep. 8 2022 /PRNewswire/- The Israel Ministry of Tourism today announced new records for arrivals of tourists to Israel from the United States in July and august. Israel welcomed 78,000 tourists from the United States for July 2022. This is a 4 percent increase over the year before, and 71,000 tourists from the United States for August 2022. This represents an increase of 13% over 2019.


"It is thrilling to see yet another rise in the number of tourists visiting Israel from the United States, already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking numbers for the year 2019" said Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States is the top market for Israel inbound tourism. In fact, before the COVID-19 pandemic, we were celebrating record-breaking numbers of tourists entering the country every month. It's a great positive trend that we're pleased to witness and anticipate an upward trajectory for many months to follow."

Canada is in the process, as the United States, to surpass its tourist arrivals into Israel. In July 2022, Canada had 7,200 visitors while August saw 6,000.

Gal Hana, Consul to Canada and Director of Canada at the Israel Ministry of Tourism said that it was thrilling to see the Canadian tourism industry to Israel growing. "We are not too far away from our record in 2019 and we are anticipating that the rise in travel to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians feel more confident traveling abroad."

Israel hosted more than 4.6million visitors in the year 2019, of which 969,600 originated from the United States. Since May, when the country is now open to all tourists, regardless of their vaccination status over 600,000.400 US visitors have visited Israel.
