NEW YORK - Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism revealed record-breaking numbers of visitors from the United States who visited Israel in July and August. The country received 78,000 total travelers from the United States in July 2022 that's a 4 percent increase from the year before and 71,000 total visitors from the United States in August 2022 which is an increase of 13% from 2019.

Prior to the COVID-19 epidemic there was a record-breaking number of tourism numbers each month. We are thrilled to witness this change and expect an upward trend that will continue for months, and possibly years.
Canada, not too far from the United States of America, is on track for surpassing the number of tourists visiting Israel. It had 7,200 visitors in the month of July 2022 and 6,000 in tourists in August.
"It is thrilling to see how Canada's tourism to Israel is rebounding," said Gal Hana Consul and Director of Canada for the Israel Ministry of Tourism. We are close to our record numbers for 2019, and we anticipate that this surge in tourism to Israel will continue as Canadians are more comfortable at home when they travel abroad.
In the year 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million global tourists 969,600 of whom came from the United States, and since the country's official opening to everyone regardless of their the status of their vaccination in May of this year The country has received more than 600,400 US travelers.
