NEW YORK - Sep. 8 2022 /PRNewswire/ The Israel Ministry of Tourism today unveiled new records for arrivals of tourists to Israel from the United States in July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 tourists from the United States during July 2022 which is an increase of 4% over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States during August 2022. "It is so thrilling to witness a new rise in the number of tourists visiting Israel from the United States, already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking numbers in 2019." said Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States has been our largest source of tourism for Israel inbound. Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19 we had record number of Israeli tourism entries each month.

Canada is also on track, as the United States, to surpass the amount of tourists that visit Israel. In July 2022 Canada saw 7,200 tourists and August saw 6,000.

Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism said that "it's amazing to see the way that tourism in Canada is booming." We are getting close to our record numbers for 2019, and we anticipate that this growth in travel to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians are more comfortable at ease in Israel.
