NEW YORK - September 8 2022Record-breaking tourist arrivals from the United States were announced today by the Israel Ministry of Tourism. The country welcomed 78,000 total travelers from the United States in July 2022 which is an increase of 4% from 2019 and 71,000 total visitors from the United States in August 2022, a 13% increase from 2019.
"It is so exciting to once again see an increase in tourism to Israel from the United States, already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking numbers of 2019" said Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States has been the most important source of tourism for Israel inbound. Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19 we had record figures of the number of tourists entering Israel each month.
Canada with 7,200 visitors in July 2022, and 6,000 tourists in August, isn't too far behind the United States.

"We aren't too far from our record numbers for 2019, and we are anticipating that the growth in travel to Israel will further increase as Canadians remain confident about traveling abroad."
Israel received more visitors from all over the world in 2019 than any other country. 969 600 were American. Israel's official reopening for travellers from May 2018. The country has welcomed more than 600,400 US tourists since the time of opening.
