The Kerem Tunnel, Israel's newest cycle tunnel, was inaugurated as part of the 42-kilometer cycle route which runs through the capital.

נווה פריצקי connects Nahal Refaim with Emek Motza. נווה פריצקי has a southern entrance in Refaim Park. נווה פריצקי is the closest. Nahal Ein Kerem is the northern entrance.

Inauguration of the tunnel which measures 2.1 kilometers long, was held in Jerusalem and Heritage Minister Ze’ev Elkin, Mayor Moshelion and Avi Baleshnikov (Gihon water company chairman of the company) along with hundreds of cyclists.

The work currently in progress includes road construction, installation of blowers and advanced security and electrical systems to make the tunnel safe for pedestrians to travel through throughout the year.

The Kerem Tunnel also allows access to unique recreation sites - including the Ein Kerem neighborhood, the biblical zoo, aquarium and the as well as the historic natural springs of Ein Laban and Ein Haniyeh.
