NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today record-breaking numbers of tourists from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. 78,000 tourists from the United States visited Israel in July 2022. This is a four percent increase over the year before and 71,000 visitors from the United States in august 2022. This is 13% higher than in the year 2019.
"It is so exciting to witness a new increase in tourist numbers to Israel from the United States, already reaching the record-breaking levels of 2019." said Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States has been our most important destination for tourism to Israel that is inbound. Prior to the COVID-19 outbreak we had been celebrating record-breaking figures of the number of tourists entering Israel each month.
Canada is on track to surpass Israel's tourist arrivals 7200 tourists are expected to visit Israel in July 2022 and 6,600 in August.
"It is thrilling to see how tourism from Canada to Israel is rebounding," said Gal Hana Director and Consul for Canada of the Israel Ministry of Tourism. We're close to reaching our record-setting numbers for the year 2019, and we are anticipating that this increase in travel to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians are more comfortable at home abroad.
Israel has hosted more than 4.6million tourists in 2019, of which 969,600 were from the United States. Since May that year, when Israel reopened to all travelers, regardless of their vaccination status More than 600,000.400 US visitors have visited Israel.
