NEW YORK, Sept. 8th, 2022 /PRNewswire-- The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today record-breaking tourism arrivals from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. 78,000 visitors from the United States visited Israel in July 2022. This represents a 4% increase over 2019, and 71,000 visitors from the United States in august 2022. This is 13% higher than in the year 2019.
Eyal Carlin is the North American Tourism Commissioner for North America. He said, "It's so exciting to once more see an increase of tourism to Israel from America, which is already in the process of surpassing or exceeding our record-breaking numbers for 2019". "The United States is our most important market for Israel's inbound tourism. Before the COVID-19 epidemic, we saw record-breaking numbers of Israeli tourists entering Israel every month. We are thrilled to see this positive change, and we expect this trend to last throughout the months and years to come."
Just like in the United States, Canada is in the process of surpassing its tourism numbers in Israel by 7,200 tourists in July 2022 and 6,000 in August.
Gal Hana is the Consul and Director for Canada in the Israel Ministry of Tourism. We're close to reaching our record numbers for 2019, and we anticipate that this surge in tourism to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians feel more at ease in Israel.
Israel welcomed more that 4.6 million international visitors in 2019 and this included 969.600 coming from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all tourists, no matter if they are vaccination-free. It has already hosted more than 600,000.
