The video, which was uploaded on Thursday and titled "so long nerds," included a posthumous message from the creator to his followers, which was read by his father. "Hello everyone, Technoblade here. If you're watching this, I am dead," Technoblade's message said, revealing that his real name is Alex. "Thank you for all your support for my content over the years. If I had another 100 lives, I think I would prefer to be Technoblade each time as those were the happiest years of my life."
On Technoblade's store online there is a message that reads "In honor of his memory, a portion of the profits from all online purchases will be donated to a wonderful organization called curesarcoma.org," linking to the Sarcoma Foundation of America.

A statement at the end of the video shared Thursday read, "We, the family of Technoblade, wanted you all to know just how much he adored and respected his fans and colleagues. From Technoblade's earliest online days, he was constantly figuring out ways to please and reward his followers. Even after his eventual successes he managed to maintain his good-natured humour, and compete with an endearing balance between his confidence and self-deprecating humor. We ask that you honor his wishes to keep his identity secret and to keep him from becoming famous.
The statement continued, "This past year has had a lot of rough spots for our son, who was fighting stage four cancer. But he never complained, and kept using his famously strategic mind to try to beat what he thought were impossible odds. My son's courage in this situation was an inspiration to all of us who had the privilege to share it with. Thank you for sharing his journey and for doing the work he enjoyed for his beloved fans."
According to his father, Technoblade composed his final message to his fans approximately eight hours prior to his death. "I do not think Technoblade said everything he wanted to say, but I think he got the main points," his father said.
Technoblade announced his diagnosis of cancer in August 2021. He told reporters that he began feeling discomfort in his right arm during the previous month, initially believing it was a repetitive stress injury from playing. After several days, he noticed his shoulder swelling and thought he could have fractured bones. When he visited the hospital, he was diagnosed with cancer.
Following the news of his passing, tributes to the late creator came streamed in via social media.
