Minecraft creator Mojang plans spin-off game

Minecraft maker Mojang is planning a spin-off game based on its block-building game that is a hugely popular title.
It is known as Minecraft: Story Mode and will be an episodic video game that is set in the familiar Minecraft world however it introduces new characters to the setting.

Telltale Games, which has previously produced many episodic titles, is making the game.
The first episode will be available on consoles, computers and Macs in 2015, and also on Android devices.
It is unclear what the game will be like. Mojang has created a brief browser-based game called InfoQuest II to demonstrate what it might appear like.
Mojang stated in a blog post that the game will be developed using the assistance of the Minecraft community.
It aimed to assure players that Story Mode would not be similar to the bloody and violent games Telltale has produced before now. Recent Telltale games include The Wolf Among Us, Tales from the Borderlands and games based on Game of Thrones and zombie thriller The Walking Dead.
"Telltale's Minecraft-inspired game will be like Minecraft," stated Mojang, "though it is a entirely original design that was inspired by our game."
The news about Story Mode comes soon after Mojang released a completed version of its Scrolls card-based game of magic fighting.
