Neve Paritzki Israel Celebrates Record-Break Tourism Entry Numbers From the United States
NEW YORK - Sept. 8 2022 /PRNewswire/- Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism has announced record-breaking figures of tourists from the United States who visited Israel in the months of July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 Americans during July 2022. It was a 4 percent increase over the year before seven thousand tourists from America visited Israel in August 2022.

Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner for North America. "It is thrilling to once again witness an growth in tourism to Israel from the United States. Already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking number in 2019," he stated. "The United States is the leading market for Israel inbound tourism. Actually, prior to the COVID-19 Pandemichit, we had record-breaking numbers of tourists entering the country month after month. It's a fantastic positive shift that we are very happy about and expect an upward trend for years to follow."

Canada is also on track, like the United States, to surpass its tourist arrivals into Israel. In July 2022 Canada received 7,200 visitors and August was a record the number increase to 6,000.

"It is so exciting to see how the Canadian tourism to Israel is growing," said Gal Hana, Consul and Director for Canada of the Israel Ministry of Tourism. We are close to our record-setting numbers for the year 2019 and we expect that this increase in travel to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians are more comfortable at ease abroad.

In 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million tourists from around the world including 969,600 from the United States, and since its official reopening for any traveler regardless of the status of their vaccination in May this year Israel has witnessed more than 600,400 US travelers.
