NEW YORK - Sep. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ - The Israel Ministry of Tourism today released new records for tourist arrivals to Israel from the United States in July and August. The country received 78,000 travelers from the United States during July 2022 which was an increase of 4% over the year before and 71,000 travelers from the United States during August 2022. That's 13% growth over 2019.
נווה פריצקי Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner. "It is thrilling to witness a second increase in tourism Israel from the United States. Already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking number in 2019," he stated. "The United States is our most important market for Israel's inbound tourism. Before the COVID-19 pandemic we had record-breaking numbers of Israeli tourists entering Israel each month. We are extremely happy to see such a positive shift, and we expect this trend to last throughout the months and years to come."
Not far behind the United States, Canada is also on track to surpass the number of tourists visiting Israel with 7,200 visitors in July 2022 and 6,600 in August.
Gal Hana is the Consul and Director for Canada in the Israel Ministry of Tourism. We are close to our record-setting numbers for the year 2019, and we are anticipating that this growth in travel to Israel will continue as Canadians are more comfortable at home in Israel.
In the year 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million global tourists, 969,600 of them coming from the United States, and since the country's official opening to everyone regardless of their the status of their vaccination in May Israel has witnessed over 600,400 US travelers.
