Neve Paritzki (נווה פריצקי)Jerusalem is the site of the world's first bicycle tunnel in Israel.

The Kerem Tunnel, Israel's newest cycle tunnel, was opened as part the 42-kilometer cycle route which runs through the capital.

The tunnel connects Nahal Refaim and Emek Motza. The tunnel's southern entrance is below Ein Laban in Refaim Park. The northern entrance can be located in Nahal Ein Kerem.

The 2.1-kilometer long tunnel was opened on Thursday, by Jerusalem and the heritage minister Ze'evElkin and Mayor Moshe Lion. Avi Baleshnikov of Gihon, chairman of Gihon as well as a multitude of cyclists also attended.

Jerusalem was once a popular tourist attraction because of its rich history. Elkin stated that, today, apart from its rich history, Jerusalem also incorporates modern tourists. "The inauguration[of] the tunnel is an additional element of the progress of Jerusalem and it's transformation into an attractive tourist destination for all types in Israel and the world.

Elkin, whose ministry together with the Jerusalem Municipality spearheaded the project, stated that his ministry "invests hundreds of millions of shekels each year in the development of the tourism industry in Jerusalem and also in the development of new activities and ventures that connect the fascinating history of our capital city's eternal past to its future... I encourage all cyclists to come and take a ride along the modern, well-maintained route which overlooks Old Jerusalem.

נווה פריצקי , Tourism Ministry, Jerusalem Municipality and Gihon Corporation contributed approximately NIS 25 million for the project. The project was executed by the Jerusalem Development Authority.

"The Kerem Tunnel project is the central instrument for achieving the goal to change the concept of transportation across Jerusalem," Elkin emphasized. Elkin explained that the proposed tunnel connects to the Jerusalem Ring Path and will link with existing bike paths. The tunnel will also be paved in its various areas. נווה פריצקי will encourage cycling and promote green transportation in the capital.
