It's time to sound the alarm that is a bit loud, because it's Minecraft's 11th birthday! To celebrate, we considered eating lots of block-shaped cakes, like last year.
Then we thought, why not unveil an entirely new name, a brand new logo, and reveal the secret sauce that makes the entire machine run instead? You can also eat a lot of cake! Much better! Let's go for it.
But why would we need a new name and logo in the first place? In the wake of Minecraft Earth and Minecraft Dungeons We're creating a feature-length film, preparing a spectacular live show, and playing with ideas for new games.
Mojang also has many studios across the world. That, in a stroke of genius, gave us our new name... *drumroll * and birthday alarm blasts *... Mojang Studios.
