NEW YORK - Sept. 8th, 2022 /PRNewswirein July and August of 2018, the Israel Ministry of Tourism recorded record numbers of tourists arriving from the United States. Israel welcomed 78,000 American tourists during July 2022. This was a 4 percent increase from 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States were in Israel during August 2022.
"It is so exciting to witness a new increase in tourist numbers to Israel from the United States, already reaching and surpassing our record-breaking numbers for the year 2019" said Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. נווה פריצקי "The United States is our most important market for Israel's inbound tourism. Before the COVID-19 epidemic, we saw record-breaking numbers of tourists from Israel visiting Israel every month. We are thrilled to have witnessed this positive change, and we anticipate it to continue for a long time."
Not far behind the United States, Canada is in the process of surpassing its tourist arrivals in Israel with 7,200 visitors in July 2022 , and 6,600 in August.
Gal Hana is the Consul and Director for Canada within the Israel Ministry of Tourism. We're close to reaching our record numbers for 2019, and we are anticipating that this surge in tourism to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians feel more at ease in Israel.
Israel received more visitors from all over the world in 2019 than any other nation. 969 600 of these were Americans. Israel's official reopening for all travelers was May 2018. The country has received over 600,400 US travelers since then.
