Neve Paritzki Israel celebrates record-breaking entry into tourism From the United States
NEW YORK - Sept. 8th, 2022 /PRNewswirein July and August 2018, the Israel Ministry of Tourism reported record numbers of tourists arriving from the United States. The country welcomed 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This is a 4 percent increase over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States for August 2022. This represents an increase of 13% from 2019.


Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner. "It is exciting to see a new rise in tourism to Israel from the United States. Already reaching and surpassing our record-breaking figure in 2019," he stated. "The United States remains our largest market for Israel-bound tourism. Before the outbreak of COVID-19 that was in the news, we had record-breaking monthly numbers of tourists entering the country. We are thrilled to see this shift and expect an ongoing upward trend for months or even years.

Canada is on track to surpass Israel's tourist arrivals 7200 tourists are expected to visit Israel in the month of July 2022 and 6,600 tourists in August.

"We are not far off our record-setting numbers in 2019, and we are anticipating that the growth in tourism to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians continue to feel more comfortable traveling internationally."

Israel welcomed over 4.6 million visitors in the year 2019. 969,600 were of the United States. The country's official reopening to all travelers in May was a success, with more than 600,000.
