NEW YORK - September 8 2022, /PRNewswire/- New record breaking tourism arrivals from the United States were announced today by the Israel Ministry of Tourism. 78,000 visitors from the United States visited Israel in July 2022. This is a 4 percentage increase over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States in august 2022. This is 13% higher than in the year 2019.
Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. "The United States remains our biggest market for tourism to Israel. Prior to the COVID-19 epidemic, we were celebrating record-breaking tourism numbers each month. We are thrilled to witness this change and are expecting a steady upward trend for months, and possibly years.
Canada which isn't too far behind that of the United States of America, is set to beat its tourist arrivals to Israel. It reached 7,200 visitors in the month of July 2022 and 6,000 in tourists in August.
Gal Hana is the Consul and Director for Canada in the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We are not too far away from our record 2019 numbers and we anticipate that this growth in travel to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians continue to feel more comfortable traveling internationally."
Israel welcomed over 4.6 million visitors in the year 2019. 969,600 of them were of the United States. The country's officially reopening to travelers in May was a success, with more than 600,000.
