Minecraft has seen its fair own share of real-world crossovers but there's nothing like this. Norway's annual The Gathering technology conference will host a live concert tonight at 9PM local (4PM Eastern). Volunteers will be impersonating the artists on Minecraft while they walk around the stage. This is not a small production. AlunaGeorge Broiler, Lemaitre and Broiler are all on hand to perform, so you can anticipate to have a lot of fun regardless of whether you're watching the real artists or their pixelated avatars.
It won't come close to replicating the vibe of the real thing, but it might give you a more personal experience than a standard video stream. Be aware that this also means the space is limited. The blog The organizers say there should only be enough space for around two to three thousand people, so you should probably hop on the Minecraft server ASAP (if you're reading this at this the morning) to have a chance to see what all the fuss is about.
