What You Need to Make an Armor



A shield is a weapon for defense that you can design and equip in Minecraft to defend yourself from threats. It is simple to make your own shields when you first start playing Minecraft. These shields are just rectangles however you can alter them with distinctive designs or even add enchantments in certain versions of Minecraft.



You will require:



- A crafting table. Six planks of wood.


- One iron ingot.



The process and recipe are the same regardless of whether you're using Minecraft version 1.x or 2.x. It's also available in the vanilla version of Minecraft which means you don't require any modifications to make this craft.



These instructions are applicable to Minecraft Java Edition, PS4 1.9+ and Pocket Edition, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, Windows 10 1.10.0+ and Education Edition 1.12.0+.



How to Create the Shield



Here's how to make your shield.



Six planks of wood are needed.



Obtain one iron ingot.



Open your crafting table.



Arrange your planks and iron ingot on the table for crafting. Put the iron ingot into the center of the top row. Put planks on the left and right in the top row, with all three spaces in the middle row and the middle of the bottom row.



Take the shield from your upper right corner into your inventory.



Your shield is now ready to use.



How to Find the Parts to create a shield



To make your shield, you'll require wood planks and iron ore. Planks of wood can be made from any kind of wood. Iron ore can also be found in the groundrock or slightly above sea level.



How do you make wood planks?



Cut or punch trees until you have some wood logs.



Two logs are all you need to make enough planks to make an armour.



Open your crafting menu or crafting table, and then place your logs in the center.



Move planks from the upper right box into your inventory.



Planks are created in four stacks which means you can quickly create a lot of planks.



How to Locate Iron Ore and Make Iron Bars



Iron ore is the most common type of ore in Minecraft, so you'll find it all over the place. Look underground from just above sea level down to the bedrock. There are iron ore veins in the underground if you can locate an underground cave or a deep ravine. Iron bars in chests if find the village, stronghold or mine shaft, tower or sunken ship.



Here's how to obtain iron ore and make an iron bar for your shield:



Find and mine iron ore.



Open your furnace.



Place iron ore and a fuel source like coal, charcoal or wood into your furnace.



Wait for the iron ingot to smelt.



You can bring the iron ingot to inventory.



How to decorate a Shield in Minecraft



Once you've constructed your shield, you can immediately equip and start using it like any other equipment. To personalize your shield, you can personalize it with your own personalization. This is also referred to as making a custom-designed shield, and it requires a shield and banner.



These instructions only apply to Minecraft Java Edition 1.9+. Other versions of Minecraft do not support shield customization.

If you don't already have a banner that you can customize, then you'll need to make one before you can personalize your shield. It's a fairly simple procedure that requires an axe and six wool to create the banner, and then the loom, the banner, and some dye to make the banner.

These guidelines are applicable to all versions of Minecraft. However, you can only use your banner in the Java Edition to customize your shield.



Here's how to create your own Minecraft banner unique



Make sure you have a crafting table menu.



Put six wools and one stick in this pattern.



All the wool used has to be the same color.



Move the banner from the upper right-hand box into your inventory.



Open your loom.



In the loom interface, place your banner, your dye, and then choose the pattern from the selection.



The third box, located under the banner and dye on the left side of the loom interface, is for an optional banner pattern' item. These can be made with paper or an item. A Skull design can be made out of the Wither Skeleton Skull + Paper. This will add a skull crossbones, and a banner if it is used.
